In episode 18 of his newest production, “Tucker on Twitter,” former Fox News primetime host Tucker Carlson sat down with Colonel Douglas Macgregor, the former advisor to the Secretary of Defense in the Trump administration.

During his interview with Carlson, Macgregor said that the war between Ukraine and Russia is happening in a way that is “just not reported in the West.”
When asked by Carlson how he would assess and describe the current situation in Ukraine, Macgregor said, “That’s an important question, and not enough people have good answers at this point. I think all of the lies that have been told for more than a year and a half about, ‘the Ukrainians are winning, the Ukrainian cause is just, the Russians are evil, the Russians are incompetent,’ all of that is collapsing, and it’s collapsing because what’s happening on the battlefield is horrific.”
Macgregor revealed that approximately 400,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in battle, and an estimated 40,000-50,000 Ukrainian soldiers have become amputees. Meanwhile, as Ukrainian hospitals are filled to capacity, Macgregor described how Ukrainian commanders are forced to surrender their wounded to the Russians due to Ukraine’s inability to evacuate them.
“Rather than admit that this is a terrible tragedy that should be ended on humanitarian grounds – if no other – that the killing should stop…We’re going to continue,” Macgregor stated, describing how the American media and Biden Administration is reporting on the war.
Macgregor further explained that the continued support for Ukraine and the overall assumption that the country is winning the war put the Russians in the “unhappy position of marching further west because from the very beginning, Putin and his advisors were never interested in a war with NATO or the United States.”
“They have over 300,000 combat troops in reserve in Russia, and I think they’re sitting there and not being released to fight because President Putin anticipates the possibility that we will intervene in Western Ukraine,” Macgregor added. “And if we convene in Western Ukraine, the Russians will be ready for that. And the consequences for us and for NATO will be devastating because we are not ready to fight the Russians.”
Macgregor said he believes that the American military is not ready for a fight with Russia because the “readiness” of our country’s defenses has been on the “decline for a long time.”
Macgregor, who is now the CEO of Our Country Our Choice, also explains this on the organization’s website, saying, “Our War-fighting Readiness is dangerously low. The Pentagon leadership is more interested in woke politics than war fighting.”
As of press time, the latest installment of Carlson’s video podcast, posted at 6:07 p.m. Central Standard Time on Monday, had 5 million views. The 18 episodes posted by @TuckerCarlson have been seen 707.4 million times on Twitter / X.
